ACS CAN/AdvaMedDx Personalized Medicine Roundtables - California

Overview

AdvaMedDx partnered with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) to host a series of state-based personalized medicine roundtable events in order to bring attention to the role of diagnostics and personalized medicine in oncology. Five events were held between August and November 2015:

Attendance:  173 including a representative from Congressman Tony Cardenas office

Special Guest:  Mr. Gary Reedy, CEO, American Cancer SocietyEvent Summary:

The audience was made up of oncologists, practitioners, clinics, education, non-profits, cancer survivors and current cancer patients. The event was moderated by ACS Boardmember Oscar Streeter, with extensive knowledge of personalized medicine therapies.  ACS/ACS CAN Chief Executive Officer Gary Reedy provided welcome remarks for the event. The program began with a self-introduction of each panelist stirring their remarks on pre-determined questions provided to them before hand to help transition into a question and answer dialogue with the audience during the second phase of the program. The audience provided meaningful feedback and a number of questions to all panelists for a lively discussion.  The audience welcomed the new approach and event in Los Angeles. Many in the audience expressed their gratitude for allowing the audience to become engaged in the conversation.
